Mrs. Rogerson of Cheltenham (Gloucestershire, England) is credited with having developed the Gloster Canary
shown at the Crystal Palace in London in 1925.

See, The Canary Handbook (Barron's Pet Handbooks) (pictured on the right) by Matthew M. Vriends p.119-120.

The Gloster Canary is featured on the cover of BirdTimes Magazine (pictured right). This bird's unusual head plumage is referred to as "crested". The crested version of the Gloster Canary is referred to as the Gloster Corona and the uncreated as the Gloster Consort. See, The Canary : An Owner's Guide to a Happy Healthy Pet p. 27.
